Chris McNair (1926–2019), father of 1963 Birmingham bombing victim

Chris McNair was the father of Denise McNair, one of the four young girls killed when KKK members bombed the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama on September 15, 1963. McNair, a photographer, went on to serve in the Alabama House of Representatives, elected in 1973 as one of the state's first African-American congressmen since Reconstruction. He later served on the Jefferson County Commission. In 2006, he was found guilty of bribery and conspiracy and served two years in prison. He was released just before the 50th anniversary of the church bombing.

Silver King comes from a wrestling family, both his father and brother were wrestlers.

Charles Barksdale (2019), bass singer for The Dells

The five member singing group was started in 1952 by friends who attended Thornton High School in Harvey, Illinois, near Chicago. Their big hit song, “Oh, What a Night,” released in 1956, has sold over a million copies. The band has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame. Roky Erickson (1947–2019), pioneering psychedelic rocker

Roky Erickson was a pioneering psychedelic rocker who founded the Texas band the 13th Floor Elevators as a teenager. The band had a regional hit song in the Southwest in 1966, “You’re Gonna Miss Me,” which made the lower levels of the national charts. Their debut album, The Psychedelic Sounds of the 13th Floor Elevators, is a highly influential psychedelic garage rock masterpiece featuring Erickson’s vocal wailing. Erickson struggled with mental illness and spent some time in a mental hospital after an arrest for marijuana possession. He recovered enough later in life to release a couple of albums and perform live with various backing bands, reuniting for a show with the 13th Floor Elevators in 2015.
