Family-Placed Death Notice
Chris L. Comer, age 61, of Locust Grove, GA, died Wednesday, July 19, 2006. She was born at Tyndall Army Air Force Base in Panama City, FL, where her father was stationed during World War II. Mrs. Comer was raised in Fairhope, Alabama, attended Auburn University, and graduated from Georgia State University where she earned a BS in Criminal Law. She retired from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation after 30 years of service, working in various capacities. She loved her pets and had numerous hobbies and interests. Mrs. Comer is survived by her husband, Richard L. Comer, Locust Grove, GA; daughters, Stacey W. (Jimmy) Skeen, Hampton, GA, Susan E. Woods, Fayetteville, GA; grandsons, Tyler Miller, Zachary Skeen; granddaughter, Mikayla Woods; father, Ralph Carl Kramer, Orlando, FL; mother, Elaine K. Hanson, Fairhope, AL; sisters, Arla K. (Thomas) Kern, Fairhope, AL, and Robin H. (Larkin) Mason, Kennesaw, GA. The family will receive friends Friday, July 21, 2006 from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm at the funeral home. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to PAWS Atlanta (formerly DeKalb Animal Shelter), 5287 Covington Highway, Decatur, GA 30035. Richard, Susan and Stacy: Chris and I worked together at Dekalb County Narcotics. We shared a love of animals every working day. I will truly miss her and our friendship. Just know we are here for you during this time.
