Rodney Johnson Obituary
Grovetown, GA—Rodney William Johnson, a retired Army Master Sergeant. entered into rest on March 20, 2021.
His is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy Jo Johnson and his brother Virgil Johnson. He is survived by his three children, Peggy and her husband Tim Redd, Michael and his wife Lynn Johnson and Scott Johnson. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Joseph and Mary Margaret Redd, Kaitlyn (Johnson) Capps, Adam and Noah Johnson and his loving dog Roo. Additionally he leaves behind many special cousins, nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
Rod was an avid golfer and a member of the Retired Military Golf Association, Ft. Gordon, Georgia.
Rod had a career in communications while in the Army and served two tours of duty in Vietnam and overseas assignments in Korea and Germany.
The family plans to hold a memorial service later this year when it is safe to gather. Donations honoring his memory can be made to his favorite charity, the Alzheimer's Association.

It was only in recent years that we came to know Rodney well. Our time with him was too short, but always full of kindness and affection. His love for his family, especially for Nancy his departed wife, was always obvious. We deeply miss our weekly breakfast meetings and seeing Rodney and Roo on their daily walks in our neighborhood.
May the Lord be with all of his family.
