John Cahill Obituary
Phoenix - John "Jack" Edward Cahill, Jr. of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on June 19, 2018 at the age of 89. Jack was born in Waterbury, Connecticut on October 22, 1928 and grew up in Litchfield, Connecticut with his father and mother, John Cahill and Catherine Dwyer, and his brother Richard. After serving in the United States Air Force, he met his wife of 57 years Joan Ardelle Pillsbury. After Jack received a medical degree from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland the newlyweds eventually settled in Phoenix, Arizona in 1962 where they raised their family. Jack is survived by his four sons Bruce, Barry, Greg and Gary; three daughters-in-law Susan, Bibi and Shelly; five granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter. There will be a memorial service at 11:00 AM on Saturday March 2, 2019 at Hansen Mortuary, 8314 N. 7th Street, Phoenix 85020. Visit https://hansenmortuary.com for condolences.

Dr. Cahill was our family doctor for 30 years. I was very unhappy when he retired He did not tell me he was retiring and hid behind a pole while his receptionist told me. When I looked up in shock I saw him looking at me. He kept inviting me and my family over to go swimming. I kept telling him we had a pool. We each had boys with our youngest named Gary. He helped my husband through his heart attack. We had one heck of a time finding a doctor we liked. There was only one Dr. Cahill. My sympathies to his family.

Jack and Jody were such a special part of my life. Jody taught me how to drive when I was 15. Jack delivered my first child. I babysat all 4 of their boys. They lived next door to my family when Jack and Jody first came to Phoenix so Jack could do his residency at Good Sam Hospital. He and Jody and my mom and dad were great friends from then on. My sincerest condolences to Bruce, Barry, Greg and Gary. Your mom used to say "Bruce, Barry, Greg and Gary. That's four, and no more". They were wonderful people. My family loved them very much.
