Hello Family of Coach Lesser,
I knew Coach when I traveled across country in 1968 California West. I also went to Europe with him a few years later with a small group and Ernie too! I have wonderful memories and also many pictures to look upon meaning more and more over time...which has also brought me to be thinking of Coach today. Perhaps I will add some pictures that I hope you will enjoy. My love to Coach´s family.

I used to take care of him at home years ago from the vna and I feel really bad he was such a nice guy and the days i had him as a patient i would look forward to going to work when I knew I was going to see him that day and I would like to Express my deepest sympathy to his family especially to his wife ernie you could not meet 2 nicer people than these two and I would like to apologize by not finding out sooner but back in March I was very sick myself back in the hospital for a few months but I have been on the mend and hopefully I will live as long as he did and may you rest in peace my friend

Dear Ernie, Bonnie, Michael and the rest of Bobby's family- Today I learned of Bobby's passing after I saw a pickup truck's license plate exclaiming "TAH-DA", just as Bobby exclaimed when visiting my home in southern Connecticut, infectiously presenting his slideshow of California West, which I joined in 1977. Bobby taught me tah-da before I learned t'ai chi.

Sending my prayers to all of you. Deeply thanking and bowing to Coach.

Sincerely,

Jon Katz

Coach Lesser was always a great, positive influence on my young life and he was very good to my brother, Bruce. I was too young to appreciate all he did, but want his family to know how much it meant to us. Blessings on you and your family.

I was fortunate to have the opportunity to see you a fews weeks ago and I reminded you of the absolutely optimistic impact you had on so many students. Many things you said about life have stuck with me. You were a giver Coach; and a gem of a person.

I had the privilege of being Bob's visiting nurse for many years. I felt more like family to Ernie and Bob than just his nurse. I will miss him greatly. Love to you Ernie and your family. God Bless you.

My very first memory of Coach Lesser was when I was about 10 years old .... watching Lynnfield baseball team playing and Joe Dibella ( football lore ) went ballistic at home plate and I thought he was going to kill the umpire. Coach Lesser risked life and limb and dove on top of Joe as 4 other adults tried to pin him to the ground.... The calming respect and love of Joe for his Coach Lesser saved the day, and probably the life of the umpire and the other 4 adults trying to restrain him. I was impressed, and still am, 56 years later as I reflect on the memories of playing for Coach Lesser. My speed was better and than my bat, so Coach gave me permission to steal 2nd, 3rd, and Home after a walk or a hit by pitch, which was about all I could do to get to 1st base. Thank You, Coach Lesser!! -Bob Preble. LHS Class of 1970

Ernie, My best to you and the family. "Coach" was liked by all and you always welcomed the LHS kids into your home. Your children were so little then. My fondest memory of "Coach" was his driving around Lynnfield in his Cadillac convertible!! Celebrate his life. Marcia Morse Waugh

Known to All as "Coach". He was our gym teacher in 7th, 8th, and 9th grade at the old High/Jr High School. My memories were of his creative obstacle courses in the gym, and who could forget the "mother lap". Condolences to his family. Rest in Peace, Coach.

Great man, great teacher, great coach. IO remember him telling me to "Always hug and kiss your parents, tell them you love them, no matter how old you get."

That is great advice, thanks Coach.

A wonderful coach and teacher at Lynnfield High School. As we prepare for our 50th reunion, he is a name that will always be remembered by our class. He had a unique style and wit that made him special to all of us. Sorry to hear that he has passed on to the great baseball field in the sky.

My heartfelt condolences to Ernie, Joy, Bonnie, and Michael. I met Coach in the 7th grade and became the batboy for his team. The rest was a long history of fun, adventure, lessons in life, and countless memories. Rest In Peace, Coach.
