Courtney helped me pass accounting in college when I couldn't figure out the difference between a debit and a credit. He was a fantastic friend and a wonderful person. He will be greatly missed.

I was always in awe of Courtney, from the time I saw him pitching in Little League to the driving contests at the AB Open. He will be missed by so many people. My deepest sympathies to the Kern family, especially Marshall - my buddy from way back.

Jack and Judy,
I am glad my family had the wonderful chance to get to know Courtney this summer. His words of encouragement to Kellyn on her adventure West. His words of comfort to me, that she'll get homesick and come home. Courtney and Pete discussing the economy. His love for Morgan, roast beef sandwiches and steaks. I will miss you Courtney and I will cherish all of our great memories. You were a great friend and you made 9th grade at Saint Francis tolerable! : ) We had a great time as kids and I was so proud of how successful you were as an adult. My prayers go out to you Mr. and Mrs. Kern and to your family. You guys did a wonderful Job raising Courtney and I'll always remember the french toast you used to make for us in the morning Mrs. Kern, when I used to stay at your house. Thank you for the memories Courtney and thank you for bringing a smile to my face every time I think of you.

To the Kerns, Tracey, and Grace Anne,
Having graduated from EAHS with Courtney and running into him over the years, it's hard to believe he's gone. I think the last time that I saw him was a few years ago at Fireman's Field (Reunion Weekend of course). He had the usual sly look on his face and slow measured drawl and looked great. He definetely went too young, especially being a father to a young girl. My prayers are that all of you are able to make peace with this in time. There's not much that will comfort you now, except maybe knowing how well liked Courtney was. Take Care, Lisa

Some of my funniest memories are with Courtney in Chicago the first few years he lived there. Being in your 20s and living in a city like Chicago - it didn't get much better. Courtney and I could always make each other laugh. One of the last times I talked to him he told me he missed my laugh . . . well, we will certainly all miss his now. Peace, my friend.

I met Courtney, Tracey, and Grace a few years ago while they were living in EA. Two things I won't forget,- how much Courtney loved football, and the way he loved to cook huge suppers on their huge stove! My heartfelt sympathies go out to everyone who loves him. He will be missed.
