Robert Vaughan Obituary

Robert Vaughan

Westford - Robert Vaughan, 66, of Westford Vermont died on Monday, February 10, 2020 following a short illness. He was born in May 27, 1953 in Norfolk Virginia. The son of George Vaughan and Priscilla Harris Vaughan. He was a graduate of Lake Taylor High School in the class of 1971. He attended Virginia Tech and graduated with a degree in architecture, with the class of 1976. He was married in Virginia Beach, Virginia to Denise Brickell. Bob played sports of all sorts, most notably volleyball, baseball and golf. He himself was a fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. His career spanned years of working for Applied Management Engineering of Virginia Beach, VA, Brown University of Providence RI, and the University of Vermont of Burlington Vermont. At each organization, Bob earned the affection and admiration of most everyone he worked with. He was tremendously talented, dedicated and unselfish in all he undertook. He enjoyed bringing people together and took pride in all of the projects he helped bring to fruition. His free time was largely spent among his family and friends, enjoying himself with the people who loved him. Whether taking on all comers in a game of corn-hole, tackling various projects at home, playing golf, preparing for a family bar-b-que or going to the beaches of Maine to vacation, Bob loved the time he spent among his family and friends. He had a great love of nature, and photographed all that he found beautiful and inspiring. Ever on the lookout for celestial wonders, Bob Denise & Jared spent numerous evenings sprawled out on the lawn, gazing out into the wondrous inky night sky. He was the biggest fan of his wife's art work, and was filled with admiration for all that his son has accomplished at Vermont Tech and beyond, at Heritage Toyota. He was filled with gladness to have his mother join him here by moving from Virginia to here in Vermont.

Bob is survived by his wife, Denise Brickell-Vaughan, 64, his son Jared Vaughan, 24, his mother Prissy Vaughan, 93, and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will take place on Saturday February 15, 2020 from 2:00 until 4:00 pm with a Funeral service starting at 4:00 pm to celebrate Bob's life, at the Ready Funeral Home South Chapel 261 Shelburne Rd, Burlington VT. He was a wonderful guy! Bob will me missed at UVM for his dedication, talent, work ethic, warm smile and ability to bring people together, solve problems and get the job done. He was taken way to early and will be greatly missed. I always enjoyed seeing him at meetings and checking in about our families and Westford connection.
