Chicago just got a little less Fabulous. The passing of Diane has saddened my heart since I first read this. My condolences go out to her family and her friends. I want to share a few photos from good times I shared with DC. She had such a zest for life, I can picture her smile, hear her laugh, and remember the ride I shared with her. We went to a Rolling Stones concert, she loved the Stones, after the concert she said we are going to the Ambassador East and celebrate Mick's birthday, and we did. She met and introduced to us David Copperfield, before he was David Copperfield, she said, he's going to be a star someday, he was. On a whim one day at Oak Street Beach, she met the road manager for Olivia Newton John, that evening she said let's fly to Madison, Wisconsin and have dinner with her, we did. She left Chicago when I did, she went east and I went northwest, she returned, I stayed. We always kept in touch. When I would visit Chicago we always had a lunch, dinner or shopping. We lost touch in the last 12 years, I became ill and so did she, neither one of us knew that. I am blessed to have had DC in my life for more than 37 years. See you DC on the other side, I love you.

I will miss her forever. She was my friend and my personal shopper. Most of all my friend. Her expertise in fashion was extraordinary,. I admired her on every every level. Most of all as I observed her bravery and fearlessness in the face of the biggest struggle of her life, her illness. She did it with such grace and dignity and never let on how scared she must have been.
I will never forget her presence at my birthday party at the Penninsula last year. She looked so beautiful and actually glowed, for that evening her illness was almost forgotten. I'm so sorry that I am not able to attend her service but she will be in my thoughts and prayers.
May you be at peace for eternity precious Diane.

Diane and I go back at Chanel 18 years. I was a sales associate in the New York boutique and we shared clients. I loved her smile and warm greeting always but most of all her unconditional acceptance of people. Thank you Diane I love you and wish you well on your next journey. Joseph Cruz

We were planning to return to Florence together for both the art history and the shopping. I will miss her zest for those things she loved most. It will nearly impossible to shop without thinking, "what would Diane think?" Denise
