Larry R. Plotkin

Larry R. Plotkin, 70, of Wheeling, passed away on February 20, 2022. He was the adored son of the late Albert and Sally (Glickson); cherished brother of Steven (Helene Zimmerman) and Dale (Nancy Devine); loving and loved uncle of Nathan (Dr. Eileen), David (Ashley Bryan), Louisa (Brent) Ricker, Brian (Amy Staples), Laura (Matthew) Dunn and Mark (Christen Baillie); the beloved GULP of Alexander, Sydney and Sophie Plotkin, Andrew and Julia Ricker, and Levi Dunn; devoted nephew of Gloria Glickson Weiser; and dear cousin to Scott (Alana), Bruce (Lynne) and the late Trent Glickson, Cynthia (the late Richard) Schoenstadt, and Caryn (Mark) Putterman. Larry graduated from Niles East High School and Arizona State University. He was employed in the business world throughout his life, in sales, services, property management, IT and financial management. A big man with a booming voice and outsized personality, he created a lot of energy, and always meant well. Larry made friends wherever he went and with whomever he encountered. His greatest enjoyment was derived through relationships with his extended family. He reveled in family gatherings, cheered on family successes and connected with newly-found distant relatives. He never forgot a birthday and belted out multiple verses whether you wanted it or not. Please consider a contribution to the charity of your choice. Private family services have been held.
