Reva Trull Obituary

Reva S. Trull

Candler - Reva Ellen Stamey Trull, age 89, of Big Cove Road, a beloved wife, a loving mother, grandmother, great -grandmother and dear sister entered into her eternal Heavenly home on Wednesday, May 13, 2015.

Mrs. Trull was born July 23, 1925 in Buncombe County and was the daughter of the late Dennis Stamey and the late Evelyn Warren Stamey. Reva was truly a devoted homemaker and welcomed everyone who visited the Trull home with open arms. She was a wonderful cook and her delicious chicken and dumplings, homemade dressing and her melt in your mouth cornbread was a favorite of everyone! Mrs. Trull's strong faith was an important part of her life. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Asheville and had also attended Long Branch Baptist Church in Canton. She touched the lives of many children as she taught Sunday School for several years and also lovingly cared for the babies in the church nursery. Reva enjoyed watching baseball and was a true Atlanta Braves fan. Her special love of flowers, all animals and the precious memory of Reva feeding the birds and squirrels who visited her lawn daily will never be forgotten. Reva Stamey Trull was a lady who gave her life to her Lord, to her family and to so many others who called her their friend. She was deeply loved and shall be forever missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Benjamin Trull who passed away in 2013; her sisters, Christine Arrington and Betty Payne and also a brother, Carroll Stamey.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Carolyn Sheppard and her husband, Rex Sheppard of Canton and Nancy Leggett and her husband, Ernest Leggett of Richmond Hill, GA; sons, Roger Trull and his wife, Linda Trull of Clyde, Jerry Trull and his wife, Karen Trull of Candler and Benny Trull and his wife, Trish Trull of Candler; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Shope of Candler and Dixie Gaddy and her husband, Ralph Gaddy of Elberton, GA and a special friend, Reverend Josh Evans.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 2015 in chapel of Trinity Baptist Church in Asheville. The Reverend Donnie Walker, Reverend Allen Rash, Dr. Ralph Sexton, Jr. and Reverend Josh Evans will be officiating. Burial will be at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens in Asheville. The family will be receiving friends at the church chapel from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. prior to the service.
