Joseph C. Lazurek, Jr., age 70, of Seymour entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 21, 2017 in St. Vincent's Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He is the devoted husband of 49 years to Gladys (Barton) Lazurek. Joe was born in Derby on September 22, 1947 son of the late Walter Erland and the late Helen Bizak Lazurek Constantino, and was a life long valley resident. He was the owner and operator of Finders Keepers Auto Parts for many years. He was a faithful servant of The Beacon Hill Evangelical Free Church in Monroe, and was a member of the church choir. He also enjoyed fishing and boating. Joe is the beloved father of Kimberly Kozlowski and her husband Charles, Dawn Andrade and her husband Engelbert, Joseph C. Lazurek, III and his wife Michelle, and Scott Lazurek and his wife Christine. He is the brother of Elsie Trafton, and Ida Belknap. He is the cherished grandfather of Stephen Lazurek, Abigail Andrade, Isabella Andrade, Engelbert Andrade, Caleb Lazurek, Leah Lazurek, Jamie Ziembroski, Emily Lazurek, and Jacob Lazurek. He also leaves a beloved great granddaughter Janelle Lazurek.
Friends may greet his family on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the Riverview Funeral Home 390 River Road Shelton. On Saturday, his gathering and prayer service will be held from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. for his burial service at 10:30 a.m. in Lawncroft Cemetery, 1740 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield. The final celebration of Joe's life will be held at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) in the Beacon Hill Evangelical Free Church 371 Old Zoar Road Monroe, CT 06482 with a reception to follow.
