Richard Bashar Obituary
Richard Michael Bashar Sr., age 83, of Shelton, died at St. Mary's hospital in Waterbury on November 17, 2022 surrounded by his family. Richard was born on 2/15/1939 in Bridgeport, CT, the son of the late John and Anna Bashar. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife Annette of 51 years and his brother George Bashar. He was a retired employee of Avco Lycoming and the Shelton police department as well as a US Army veteran serving from 1956 to 1959. He is survived by his son Richard Bashar Jr. and his wife Jacqueline of Shelton, daughters Cheryl French and her husband Dan of
Manchester, Deborah Perry and her husband Frank of Shelton and Carol Bergeron and her husband Paul of Palmetto Florida. Richard had 7 grandchildren, Melissa Slater, Jessica Pasqualucci, Kelly Dowling, Sam French and Ryan, Justin and Megan Bergeron as well as 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother John Bashar and sister Mary Gulish. The family wishes to thank the staff at Vitas for their exemplary care. A memorial service will be held on Friday December 9, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. St. Joseph's
Church, 50 Fairmont Place in Shelton, CT. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be sent to Vitas Community Connection.
