Diane Charlemagne Obituary
Charlemagne was the lead singer for Urban Cookie Collective. In 1993, they had a big hit with their track, "The Key the Secret," which peaked at No. 2.
The Manchester-born singer, who toured with Moby's live band among many others, had continued to record.
In a series of tweets, Goldie posted: "So she went into the early morning ... God rest her soul #diane what a gifted voice."
He continued: "I can't thank you enough for what you contributed and we will carry on your legacy."
He added: "Love to her family ... #blessed."br>
In an official statement, Blue Soap Music PR said: "I'm very sorry to have to announce the death of Diane Charlemagne. Diane passed away this afternoon surrounded by her family after losing her brave battle with cancer.
"The release of her last record, 'It's in Your Eyes,' featuring Andy Rourke of the Smiths and remixed by Youth, will go ahead on Nov. 20 as planned, with the proceeds going to Diane's family."
Welsh drum 'n' bass producer High Contrast said: "Very sad to hear of Diane Charlemagne's passing, she'll always be the voice of dnb to me, so privileged to have known and worked with her x."

I have known Diane forever. .we have been on the same stage me playing records and D performing . We were colleges and friends. . Her last message to me was to let me know she was in the hospital but ok. She was so very brave and positive right to the end and never gave up hope. Her smile always lit up the room and her voice always left the room Hushed her happy smile..her spirit..her love of life and people and her lagacy will live forever. .rest in peace Diane. . You can now go and sing with your friends in heaven...all the greats that will be waiting for you. . LUTHER V..BOB M.. TEDDY P . . BARTY W... love and condolences to all the family.. Diane had one of the most unique and amazing soulful voices I ever heard and I always remember we did a black panther event many years ago together and when you sang Diane ...no music just your amazing voice..I had to move several paces away as the power of your voice resonated in my ears so powerfully it actually hurt... but the thousands of people at the event fell silent in awe of that angelic voice .. When I first started doing photography almost five years ago,I'm walking on Oxford Street with my new secondhand camera looking for something to shoot and I see two females over the road, I recognized one of them straight away. I cross the road approached her and sang the words "Tell me how it feels, does it feel for you like it feels for me". She covered her face with both hands and when she revealed her face she was blushing and said" I can't believe you recognize me" I her asked her to give me both of her hands and she did. I held them in mine and told her that in my lifetime they've been many songs that moved me sung by many who moved me also. I told her she has no idea how she made me feel when she sang that 1980's classic TELL ME HOW IT FEELS as lead vocalist for the band 52nd STREET. She told me she was working on new material I told her I would look out for it.I took a quick photo (not one of my best early days) gave her a hug and said farewell. I have recently learned she past due to cancer. I can't TELL YOU HOW I FEEL about this sad news. God bless you Diane Charlemagne, meeting you was one of my greatest moments.
