Our thoughts and sympathy are with each of you at this time. A wonderful gentleman has left us, a great soldier who served his country well. We were so fortunate to have known him and your mom. What dear friends they were.

I am so sorry to learn of Col. McAdams passing. I had the distinct pleasure of serving under him while he was ROTC Area V commander. He was instrumental in getting me appointed as the Professor of Military Science at Wake Forest University when I was a Major waiting for promotion. My wife and I recall how he and Sandra drove round trip from Ft. Bragg to Winston -Salem just to pin on my oak leaves as an Acting LTC. We enjoyed many conversations, both professional and personal, such as the fact that he initially turned down his military appointment as he had a football tryout with the Chicago Bears but got banged up and was then allowed to proceed on what turned into a very distinguished career. After I retired from Ft; Eustis I remained here in Yorktown so close to Col McAdams last home and did not know he was here. I am just one of the countless soldiers he touched; know that his memory lives on.

Mac Julia and all the family
I only had the opportunity to know Mike for a short time. I started out calling him Mr. McAdam. He quickly let me know he didn't like that and insisted I call him mike. What a great personality he was. I for one will certainly miss seeing him. I personally know how difficult these times are. God bless all of you and you are all in our prayers
