George Morris Obituary

George Morris

AGE: 66 • Wilmington

George Edward Morris (Ed), 66, of Wilmington, DE passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014.

Born May 2, 1948 in Wilmington, DE, Ed was the son of the late George W. and Fay Morris Hoffman. A Vietnam veteran, Ed retired from the New Castle County government after more than 30 years of service. Ed was a life-long outdoorsman whose love of all that was West Virginia, his heritage home, manifested itself in his extreme love of fly fishing, the men's-only deer cabin deep in the woods, scenic photography, and lounging with his constant canine companions, Sadie or Mollie under the biggest shade tree they could find.

George is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Languirand Morris; son, Aaron Edward Morris of North East, MD; daughter, Karen Michelle Morris of North East, MD; five grandchildren; brother, John R. Morris of Hiawassee, GA; and sister, Patricia M. Farmer of Newark, DE.

A service will be held at 2 pm on Monday, December 22, 2014 at R.T. Foard & Jones, Inc., 122 W. Main St., Newark, DE 19711, where family and friends may visit beginning at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at the Head of Christiana Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care and sent in care to the funeral home.
