Phyllis Given Obituary
Newark - Phyllis Cynthia Given of Newark, DE, age 75, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021. Phyllis was born on April 16, 1946 in East Stroudsburg, PA to the late Winfield W. Price and Mary (Thomas) Price Given.
Phyllis graduated Newark High School and then worked for Avon in the production department. She left work when she had her first son, went back to Avon and retired from the HR department. Phyllis was a member of Middletown Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling within the country and taking cruises with her husband. Phyllis had family in the Poconos and loved visiting there. She also had a collection of Boyd's Bears and wicker baskets.
Phyllis is survived by her sons: Keith and Gary Given; step sons: Charlie Given, Jr. with his wife, Christine and Richard Given; grandchildren: Kasai Anthony Lee Merritt, Brayden Dennis Given, Paisley Renea Given; and sister, Linda Price Cain. In addition to her parents, Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Given, Sr. and son, Dennis Andrew Given.
A celebration of Phyllis' life will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 W. Main Street, Newark, DE 19711 where family and friends may start visiting at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice and sent in care of the funeral home. Burial will be held immediately after at Union Cemetery in Elkton, MD.
