FRANCES FLUEHE Obituary

Frances Hazel Budd Fluehe 1912 ~ 2010 On September 16th our mother was granted her unspoken, but nonetheless known, desire to exit this life. Like a bird denied the ability to fly by the weights tied to its feet that takes flight once the ties are severed, mom has been set free. We take comfort in that. She was born September 10th, 1912 to Eva Isabel Dangerfield Budd and James Hurley Budd in Salt Lake City. When she was seven months old her family moved to Taber, Alberta in Canada and returned to Salt Lake 13 years later. In May of 1937 she married Helmuth R. Fluehe and they gifted their three children with lives that earned our undying love and respect. In 1966 she achieved one of her long sought goals when her marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She worked as a seamstress for Western Garment in the early 30's and was employed in sales at Auebachs dept. store for a number of years beginning in the late 50's. She and dad spent considerable time over the years at their special spot on Jenny Lake in Grand Teton National Park. They shared a love for photography and received numerous awards for their work. Mom was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 72 years, daughter Nancy, brother James, sister Ruth and much loved and devoted granddaughter Denise Fluehe Mallory. She is survived by sons Richard (Janet) and Paul, her brothers George and Gerald (Merle), sister Radene Ferre (Fred), six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. We extend our appreciation to the staff at Holladay Healthcare Center for the care they provided over the last 16 months and to the folks from Sunbrook Hospice. Special thanks to our life-long friend Dr. Edward G. Hashimoto for his devotion to his "Uncle Moot" and "Aunt Frances". Thank you Paul Johnston and Patti for your invaluable help and friendship the last couple of years. Friends and family will be welcomed from 11:00 a.m. to noon at Larkin Mortuary (260 E. South Temple) on Friday, Sept. 24th prior to graveside gathering at the Salt Lake Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.

I don't know if you remember me, I was Nancy's friend. I am sorry that your mother has passed on but she has had a great reunion with Nancy and your father. May you be comforted at this time.

Richard and Paul, my memories of my living down the street from your mother and Father are sweet. Your parents were to say the least very special to me. I am grateful for my life as their and your neighbor. May the Lords blessing be with you

To Richard & Paul & all of your family, I will miss dear Aunt Frances, but I know she was ready to be with Moot again. I was able to visit her twice in the last year when I was in Utah. I have many fond memories of time spent with them over many years, and our son, Josh, has always been particularly fond of them since he was a little boy. Our sympathy to all of you at this time.

I was so sorry to hear of Frances's passing. Living next door to her and her husband for many, many years was such a pleasure. She was a wonderful person and a sweet neighbor and I know she'll be missed.
