Keith Strayer Obituary

STRAYER Keith H. Strayer, age 85, of Plain City, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, March 17, 2012 at Heartland Nursing Home, Marysville. Born in Woodburn, IN January 26, 1927 to C lyde and Alta (Huston) Strayer. Graduated from Bryan High School, Bryan, Ohio in 1945 and the Ohio State School of Agriculture in 1949. He came to Plain City in 1949 to work at Kile Elevator. He married Merilyn A. Miller in the Plain City Presbyterian Church January 26, 1952. Retired Nationwide Agent in Plain City 1969 - 1991. Member Plain City Presbyterian Church for 59 years and served as a Trustee. Served on the Jonathan Alder School Board from 1964 - 1975, Plain City Library Board, Plain City Pool Board. He especially enjoyed his children, grandchildren and playing golf. Preceded in death by infant son - 1962, parents, one brother and two sisters. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Merilyn Strayer; children, Sheila L. (Mark) Nestler of Boca Raton, FL, Bradford K. (Lynn) Strayer of Boca Raton, FL, Beth Ann (Mark) Randall of Plain City; grandchildren, Jennifer Nestler, Michelle Nestler, Amilyn Strayer, Savannah Strayer, Grant K. Strayer, Bryce Strayer, Matthew Randall, Lauren Randall and Alex K. Randall; sister-in-law, Evoleno Cole. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 202 E. Main Street, (St. Rte. 161W), Plain City, where the funeral will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 with Pastor Don Hilkerbaumer officiating and burial Forest Grove Cemetery. Special Thanks to Heartland of Marysville Nursing Home, for the excellent care that Keith received. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Plain City Presbyterian Church, 231 E. Main Street, Plain City or Heartland Hospice Care, 685 Delaware Avenue, Suite 200, Marion, Ohio 43302.
