Pearl Lanning Obituary

LANNING Pearl Lanning, 76, of Delaware, formerly of Ostrander and Dublin, passed away early Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Grady Memorial Hospital. He was born September 18, 1935 in Nelsonville, Ohio to the late Pearl Sr. and Henrietta (Fuller) Lanning. Pearl worked for Marble Cliff Quarry and then he started his own business, Lanning Trucking Company. Everyone who knew Pearl as the guy that was "Lost in the 50's", because of his love for the music, cars, and the 50's lifestyle. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge FAM #4, Worthington Chapter Eastern Star 287, Moose Lodge, and the AACA (Antique Auto Club of America). He enjoyed going to car shows such as the Good Guys Custom Cars and spending time with his family. Pearl is survived by her wife of 55 years, JoEllen "Jody"; a daughter, Carol (Kim) Testa; a son, John (Laura Wolery) Lanning; four grandchildren, Laura and Jenny Lanning, Sean and Shae Testa; and two nieces. He is preceded in death by a brother Herman Lanning and two sisters Katheryn Nelson and Betty Barrett. The family will receive friends from 12Noon-2 and 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, July 1 at the SNYDER-RODMAN FUNERAL CENTER, 1510 W. William St. at Valleyside Dr. Funeral service will be held at Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center on Monday, July 2 at 10 a.m. with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery.
