Bennie Danzie Obituary

Bennie Danzie, a resident of Dothan, died Monday, Oct. 31, 2005, at his residence. He was 89.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. today, Nov. 3, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, (912 State Ave.) with Brother Clarence Robinson officiating.

Brother Danzie was born Oct. 16, 1916, in Henry County and lived in Dothan all of his life. He was employed as a house painter for over 30 years prior to his retirement. He dedicated his life to Jehovah over 40 years ago as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was engaged in the full-time ministry for many years and found delight in sharing the blessings and joys of God's Kingdom with others.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Rose Danzie of Dothan; five sons, David Danzie (Elizabeth) of Macon, Ga., Stephen Danzie of Dothan, Bill Danzie (Versie) of Dothan, Charles "Mardy" Danzie (Stephanie) of Lexington, S.C., Paul Danzie of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; six daughters, Nellie Danzie of Trenton, N.J., Rosa Lee Lang of New Orleans, Martha Marie Gillette of Cleveland, Debbie McClendon (Ezell) of Kinsey, Yvonia Canty (Toney) of San Jose, Calif., Penny Boone (Michael) of Powder Springs, Ga.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marie Crews and Ida Wilson, both of Jacksonville, Fla., Ruby Brown of Fort Pierce, Fla.; several nieces and nephews also survive.
