William Crawford "W. C." Stringfellow, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. He was 87. A private funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, June 3, 2017 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phillip Durr and Brother Chris Lassiter officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm on Friday, June 2, 2017. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alacare Hospice, 3379 W. Main St., Dothan, AL 36305. Mr. Stringfellow was born on October 5, 1929 in Houston County and lived in Dothan his entire life. He served in the Army National Guard. He worked with the City of Dothan as the Water Department Planning Supervisor. After his retirement he worked with Dr. Jimmy Carter as a patient representative. Mr. Stringfellow enjoyed taking his wife Jeanne fishing, he loved gardening, and telling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren all about the "good ole days". Mr. Stringfellow was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church. Mr. Stringfellow was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Clarence and Lena Bell Ammons Stringfellow, and by his son, William Daryl Stringfellow. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Jeanne Stringfellow; his daughter, Linda Sharon (Frank) Simmons, Defuniak Springs, FL; his grandchildren, Michelle (David) Harrison, Defuniak Springs, FL, Amanda (Steve) Camp, Troy, AL, and Allison Love, Dothan, AL; and his great-grandchildren, Hunter Breckenridge, Auburn, AL, Dalton Harrison, Defuniak Springs, FL, and Anna Love, Dothan, AL. Serving as active pallbearers will be David Harrison, Dalton Harrison, Hunter Breckenridge, Joe Godwin, Dajun Godwin, and Rowan Godwin.
