1939 - 2017

Patricia Q. Valdez went to her eternal rest with Jesus and her loving husband AdoLfo Valdez on July 6, 2017. Mom was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on September 17, 1939. She was a loving wife, mother and a Devout Catholic. She raised us to Love God, live our Catholic faith, celebrate The Sacraments to enrich our lives and the lives of others. She attended Austin High school. She volunteered countless hours at St. Patrick's Cathedral and Holy Cross Retreat center throughout our young lives. Mom worked for a period of time at The Popular department store, had many wonderful friends, loved to camp and travel. Some of her greatest joys in life were her animals, trees and flowers. She was preceded in death by her Husband Adolfo Valdez, Father Harold Canfield, mother Joanne Canfield, Sister's Bonnie Shockey and Judith Zarate. She is survived by her sister Lynda Voigt, Children Richard Damian (Michele), Thomas Patrick (Juanita), Catherine Ann (Larry) and Paulette Jeanette Zaragoza. Grandchildren Kayla Valdez, Kiersten Valdez Brandy Valdez, Thomas Valdez, Nick Torres, Paul Torres, Victoria Gallegos (Adam Gallegos), Christopher Lightbourn and Alexza Zaragoza. Great grand Children, Amerie and Abi Gallegos and Sister in Law Katy Lopez. Thank you to the countless neighbors, friends, Caregivers and doctors who prayed for and took care of our Mother. Pallbearers: Richard Valdez, Tom Valdez, Larry Lightbourn, TJ Valdez, Chris Lightbourn, Adam Gallegos, Mathew Pryor and Rhett Pryor, Honorary Pallbearer Eduardo Lightbourn. Services will be held at Perches West Funeral Home on Thursday, July 13, from 4 to 9 p.m. with a rosary service at 7 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick Cathedral, on Friday, July 14, at 9 a.m. Interment time will be at 10:30 a.m. at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
