Jeffrey Palmer Obituary
He graduated from Strong Vincent High School where he excelled in drafting. He later joined the United States Navy where he served for four years. Jeffrey was honorably discharged and awarded the National Defense Service Medal in 1975. After his tour of duty, he worked as a structural engineering technician at the Northern Division Facilities Engineering Command in Philadelphia, Pa.Upon his return to Erie he held various professional positions.
Jeffrey was a man of many talents. He often told stories of his ability to interpret numbers and was a skilled thinker. Jeffrey boxed for the Navy and at one time he competed as the main event at the local boxing championship. He also was an excellent skater.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Randall James and William Green Crawford; two sisters, Christiane Tyler and Mildred Palmer, and a nephew, Ottavio Dupree Crawford.
He leaves to cherish his memory, one son, Jeffrey Palmer, Jr.; one daughter Tiffany (Larry) Ryan both of Chambersburg, Pa.; five sisters, Carolyn, Kathleen and Elizabeth Crawford, Wilma (Alonzo) Coleman all of Erie, and Tracy (Bob) Crawford of Pittsburgh, Pa.; his grandchildren, Jalajah, Jashaun and Jisiah Palmer, and Marshay Ryan; his aunt, Katherine Estelle of Chicago, Il; a special friend, Launa Owens; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m. at Greater Calvary FGBC 2624 German, Erie, Pa., with Rev. Leo Nixon Sr. eulogizing. Interment will be at Erie Cemetery. Professional services entrusted to Pitts Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Avenue, Erie, PA 16504.
