Bill was not only a friend but also a mentor for me.Being an inside electrician, I was schooled by one of the best linemen in the trade. He always spoke of how proud he was of his kids and how they followed in his shoes. We have lost a great man. Mike Paxson IBEW Local 82

I have such fond memories of Bill and Dad, Argus Smith, working together over the years. He has been so kind and gracious to my family. It is hard to believe I saw him a couple of months ago at my Dad's funeral. He and Dad shared a friendship that lasted over several decades and beyond. He is well loved, and will be greatly missed by many.

I am saddened to know the world no longer has "Wild Bill" Davis in it to make it more colorful and vibrant. He was known as "Wild Bill" to my family, he was known as "Grandpa Bill" to me. He was always a character to get a laugh out of you. I remember him helping me get my vehicle out of the mud at the Davis's during a camping trip in the winter. I was stuck something fierce. He just shook his head at me, teased me for picking the one muddy place to try to drive through, and went and got his tractor to get me out.

I remember several times, "Grandpa Bill" being true to himself, daring me to do things; and if I hesitated, he would lean over and say "Why, you scared?" with a twinkle in his eye. He knew just what to say to get me in trouble LOL.

Grandpa Bill - you will be missed greatly.

Our city and Stone road in particular will never be the same Bill was what a neighbor is supposed to be. Helpful when needed, giving you space as needed, unselfish, and always with a smile and a twinkle in his eyes. how can you replace an asset like Bill, you can't but we can try to follow his lead. Bill you will be missed, but you left us doing just what you loved and helping others cope with the seemingly impossible.I'm sure a top linesman will be needed wherever you are. Lanny,Sharon,John,Cheryl, Brian,Donna, and Adam, the Ledbetter family. Good-bye our friend.
