Neva I. Else

Neva I. Else March 3, 1912 - May 21, 2008 Neva I. Else, a lifelong Grand Junction resident, passed away on May 21, 2008 at Larchwood Inns in Grand Junction. She was 96. Neva was born on March 3, 1912 in Grand Junction to Oswald Herbert and Mabel Amelia (Van Horn) Preston. She spent her childhood in Grand Junction and later graduated from Grand Junction High School. On September 14, 1934, Neva married Admiral W. Else in Fruita. Neva was a former member of Northeast Christian Church, and she enjoyed reading, bowling, fishing, gardening, and needlework. She was a wonderful mother and wife. Survivors include her son Herbert (Vi) Else, of Grand Junction; grandsons Scott Else of Grand Junction and Dustin Else of Wellington, Colorado; granddaughter Dawn Else of Kansas City, Missouri; and great granddaughter Taylor Else of Grand Junction. Neva was preceded in death by a sister Lois Chadwick; a brother Lyle Preston; and her husband Admiral W. Else. A visitation will be held on Monday, May 26 (Memorial Day) at Martin Mortuary from 5 - 7:00 p.m. Services will be held Tuesday, May 27 at 2:00 p.m. at Martin Mortuary. Interment will follow at Grand Junction Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Martin Mortuary.
