My daughter Rebecca always said "Mrs. Van" was one of her all-time favorites teachers!! She was so insightful and patient for all of us "new" parents of the wee ones heading off to their first Big adventure ~ Kindergarten. Thank you for sharing her with all of us. She will be remembered fondly.

Thoughts and prayers to the family. Mrs. VandenHeuvel was my Kindergarten teacher at Sullivan. I'm thankful to have had such an amazing teacher who truly cared about her students and shared her love of learning. It was also a pleasure working with her at Sullivan in the past few years. God picked quite an angel to join him!

So sorry to hear of Katie's death. I taught special education at Sullivan School when Katie was teaching there. She was always a bubbly, dedicated, caring teacher and accepted all of the special education students placed in her classroom. Everyone could succeed in Katie's classroom no matter what their ability or disability. She will truly be missed.
