Michael E. Betts, 46, Sarasota, died Feb. 25, 2008.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Old Miakka Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter, Ruth of Sarasota; a son, Clinton of Sarasota; his parents, Don and Judy of Bradenton; his grandmother, Ruth Rieth of Sarasota; sisters Kristi Blanton of Sarasota and Sue Trammell of Tifton, Ga.; brothers Tom of Santa Rosa Beach and Dave of Tampa; and his companion, Kathy Manley.
Friends may make memorial contributions to the Central Church of Christ in Sarasota.

I was very shocked and saddened by the news of Mike's passing. It's been many years since I've seen him. He worked at Lykes Brothers Ranch with my former husband Glenn "Bear" Loughren and I. We all were very close. He will be missed.

I was so saddened to read of your loss. I remember you as a 4th grader at Wilkinson School and while I never met your dad I know what it is to lose a father. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Please give my condolences to your grandmother, Judy. We worked together at Booker School many years ago.
