0h how do I count the waves of the great grateful memories of my Loving husband that God allowed us to share, after 6 months of missing you it seems as if it's still new, it doesn’t seem as if you've been gone that long. Yesterday I thought of you so strongly while I was rearranging the garage as far as I could see everything out there had your hand work on it, many of the things was before me, but I could just visualize your craftiness. God had blessed you with many talents, it seemed as if I felt you there yes I weep inside not to allow my children nor my lil. niece's that you was so fun to see me weeping, wishing I yet had you here with me. I yet realizing that God loved you and wanted you more, God saw your future. How do I count the waves of the great grateful memories that God allowed us to share, I'm truly grateful unto God for the fulfillment that he allowed you to make me complete you was one of the greatest gives that God had given me on this earth, baby I thought about your wedding day, yes! your wedding you was so proud to make me your wife and to see how clean you had everybody especially your boys it gave you grate joy to see them clean(I remember you saying these boys will never be this clean again * smile*) and you guys was clean baby sometimes it gets hard but I’m going to make it through, each day is getting better and better. How do I count the waves of the great grateful memories that God allowed us to share, by knowing that I'm in the care of God and I know for a true fact that I'm more than a conquer, God has smiled on me and in due season everything will be alright to say how I count the waves of my grate memories of my loving husband is capturing every moment with grate joy for I found out long time ago that the joy of the Lord is my strength it's God’s great pleasure in giving me his child joy to make it through each day of the rest of my life you would always say that I got the short end of the stick baby I beg the difference I got the best end you will always be in my heart LOVE YA! How do I fill the void where you had to leave me!
Missing you it’s only been 2 months and 4 days, how do I fill this void?
I always said that as long as you were here with me I was safe, how do I feel this void?
Things have accrued that filled my heart with sadness, as well as gladness, how do I fill this void?
Life has brought so many disappointments of people that, you thought would have been there, how do I fill this void?
With each day that passes I think of you, missing the fishing trips, wanting the comfort of your voice, the great hugs and kisses, the laughter (you made me laugh) and the warm smiles that comforts my heart and you let me know that everything was going to be alright, how do I fill this void?
In search of how do I fill this void, God let me know that, HE will never leave me nor forsake me and that I will be ok because if God is for me he is more than the world against me, knowing that no weapon that is formed against me shall prospers, and I’m more then a conquer, every tongue that rise up against me shall stumble back and fall.
In search of how to fill the void where you had to leave me, I capture the great memories that we shared, the true LOVE you shared with me and no one can ever take that away, What we shared in 3 years was more to me then I’ve ever shared with anyone in my live time.
How do I fill the void where you had to leave me, I place the word of God 1st, the Life and LOVE God gave us, our family that surrounds me with LOVE, the peace of God that surpasses all understanding, knowing that you are with the Lord, the Bible tells me in
(2 Cor 5:8 says to be absent for the body is to be present with the Lord).
I get great comfort in knowing that you are with the Lord with your crown and your white robe, having not to deal with the cares of this world you are now totality healed from all sickness that could ever attach your physical body, death has no power you are free, In knowing this I can be filled with God’s Love, Joy and his peace that passes all understanding
How do I fill the void, Your LOVE!
P.S. your Loving wife

To My Niecee - Judy Norris,
You may not have known you were my Niece, but you have been my Niece all of your life. God knew it and I knew it.
I love you and I want you to know that everything that has happened in your life has happened for a purpose. I feel that everything you have gone through God had a purpose for it - Ecc 3:1. I feel that particular purpose was predestined for you before the foundation of the world and is being fulfilled at this appointed time.
Hold your head up and don't be sorrowful. Let the JOY of the Lord be your strength.
Be blessed always, and remember - "GOD IS STILL IN CONTROL!"...
Love Ya!

Dear Mrs. Norris,
I am grateful to God for His Omniscience. He know over 20 years ago that you and Mr. David L. Norris would be husband and wife by July 7, 2007 (7-7-7-). He knew you would love each other unconditionally. He knew the exact number of lives you and David would touch with your sincere love, both for each other and for others.
In the beginning, as I got to know David and after you guys told me you were getting married; I began to address David as my "ALMOST NEPH". But, after you guys said "I Do" to each other I could now address David as my "NEW NEPH" (smile). That day was to be a landmark for sooo many of us and we didn't have a clue.
During one of your visits to my home, the fact of whether we were going to have a formal wedding or not. I remember as if it was yesterday, hearing David say, "DO YOU THINK I WAITED THIS LONG TO GET MARRIED AND I'M NOT GOING TO HAVE A WEDDING? Because David spoke those words with such sincerity and conviction that I had no doubt that he was absolutely serious about marrying my niece.
God gave you 7-7-7 as the immutable date for you guys to get married. In the spiritual realm of understanding, 7-7-7 represents "COMPLETION" and just as God would have it - from July 2007 to February 2008 was 7 months, another date of completion.
Through everything you both had experienced in your lives (good and not sooo good), God proved Himself faithful. I witnessed for myself the transformation of David's faith from Matthew 17:20 to Galatians 5:6 to Hebrews 11:1. What a mighty God we serve!
Be strong, Mrs. David L. Norris, in the Lord and in the power of His might. Romans 8:28-39 stated it better than I ever could.
You are a very blessed woman of God. I pray you will continue to allow God to complete the great work He has begun in you, and that the Ministry God is perfecting in you be multiplied to overflow. See, I know you can do all things through Jesus that strengthens you.
With much love and respect,

Dear Judy (LOLA),
I am soooo very thankful for this opportunity to share with you some of the sentiments I would like to have shared during the eulogy.
There are times when words do not do our thoughts justice; this may very well be one of those times. Anyway, here goes. Before I got to know David, and after you guys got engaged; I would address him as my "ALMOST NEPH", and that was the start of a beautiful relationship.
I remember one day you and David came by for a visit and something was said concerning the possibility of not having a wedding with all the trimmings, and David's voice tone elevated and he said, "DO YOU THING I'VE WAITED THIS LONG TO GET MARRIED AND I'M NOT GOING TO HAVE A WEDDING?" This man was serious! I smiled and thought within, "Yeah! he is for real".
David had some challenges that would require him to step up to the spiritual plate and call on Faith that he never knew he had. It was at that point that he surprised himself with his new found Faith Walk. I witnessed as his sight grew more dim in the spiritual and grew more in Faith, because we all know that as children of God - we WALK by FAITH and not by what we SEE.
The day you guys got married I was one, ONE of the happiest people in the world. On July 7, 2007, I could officially stop calling him "My Almost Neph" and now I could address him as "MY NEW NEPH". He brought me joy because of who he was in my life and definitely because of his love toward my dear Niece. God is soooo good isn't He? Amen! Amen!
What a Man, what a man! Judy, I thank you for allowing me to share in your life and love with Mr. David Norris. He was my friend, and My Nephew and I loved him. He is in my thoughts quite often. There are times I am going through the house and I think about him and a smile will fill my face.
I am sooo proud of you Niecee. I thank God for how He is blessing you to move forward in your life and let the experience of David's death be tool for the ministry God has entrusted you with. Keep up the outstanding work, and stay COVERED...
With much love,

The Creation of the Firefighter
When the Lord was creating firefighters, he was into his sixth day of overtime when an angel appeared and said, "You're doing a lot of fiddling around on this one."
And the Lord said, "Have you read the specification on this person? Firefighters have to be able to go for hours, fighting fires or tending to a person that the usual everyday person would never touch, while putting in the back of their minds the circumstances. They have to be able to move at a second's notice and not think twice of what they are about to do, no matter what danger. They have to be in top physical condition at all times, running on half-eaten meals, and they must have six pairs of hands."
The angel shook her head slowly and said, "Six pairs of hands...no way."
"It's not the hands that are causing me problems," said the Lord, "it's the three pairs of eyes a firefighter has to have."
"That's on the standard model?" asked the angel.
The Lord nodded. "One pair to see through the fire and where they and their fellow firefighters should fight the fire next. Another pair here in the side of the head to see their fellow firefighters and keep them safe. And another pair of eyes in the front so that they can look for the victims caught in the fire who need their help."
"Lord," said the angel, touching his sleeve, "rest and work on this tomorrow."
"I can't," said the Lord, "I already have a model that can carry a 250-pound man down a flight of stairs to safety from a burning building, and can feed a family of five on a civil service paycheck."
The angel circled the model of the firefighter very slowly, "Can it think?"
"You bet," said the Lord. "They can tell you the elements of a hundred fires and can recite procedures in their sleep that are needed to care for a person until they reach the hospital. And all the while they have to keep their wits about them. Firefighters also have phenomenal personal control. They can deal with a scene full of pain and hurt, coaxing a child's mother into letting go of the child so that they can care for the child in need. And still they rarely get the recognition for a job well done from anybody, other than from fellow firefighters."
Finally, the angel bent over and ran her finger across the cheek of the firefighter. "There's a leak," she pronounced. "Lord, it's a tear. What's the tear for?"
"It's a tear from bottled-up emotions for fallen comrades. A tear for commitment to that funny piece of cloth called the American flag. It's a tear for all the pain and suffering they have encountered. And it's a tear for their commitment to caring for and saving lives of their fellow man!"
"What a wonderful feature. Lord, you're a genius," said the angel.
The Lord looked somber and said, "I didn't put it there."

THE FIRE FIGHTER
Did you ever awake in the dead of night
And hear the siren blow,
And see the sky in the distance
With a red light all aglow?
If you did you must think of these firemen brave;
Who battle the smoke and the flame.
They are your protectors, these heroes unsung,
Thinking not of reward or of fame.
His equipment is fit, he's ready to serve,
Does his work without murmur or moan.
Keeping his engines and trucks in repair,
Often paid for with funds of his own.
Up rickety stairs, through smoke-filled rooms,
To save some one's children or wife,
always thinking of others, for that is his job,
That's part of a fireman's life.
Often in Winter he leaps from his bed
And goes out in the cold and the snow;
And often 'til dawn you can see him at work,
With the temperature "twenty below".
He climbs up long ladders to ice-covered roofs,
Where sometimes he gets a bad fall;
In rescuing others, thinks not of himself,
Sometimes crushed by a large falling wall.
And then oftentimes he is wet to the skin
And chilled from his head to his toes;
With his rubber coat often froze tight to his back,
Fingers numb from the ice-covered hose.
He's a lot like his Maker, this fireman bold,
'Mong the bravest of all in the land;
So whenever you meet him don't just say "Hello",
But cheer him and give him your hand.

A Fireman's Prayer
When I am called to duty, God,
Whenever flames may rage;
Give me strength to save some life,
Whatever be its age.
Help me embrace a little child
Before it is too late
Or save an older person
From the horror of that fate.
Enable me to be alert
And hear the weakest shout,
And quickly and efficiently
To put the fire out.
I want to fill my calling
And to give the best in me
To guard my every neighbor
And protect his property.
And if, according to my fate,
I am to lose my life,
Please bless with your protecting
My children and my wife.

How do one define true LOVE!
Love that endures,Love that suffers, Love that cares, Love that looks beyond faults & see the needs of others, Love that is in action.
How would one define real Love!
I was Loved by one of God's greates men on earth, I was Loved by my Friend, my Husband and my Lover.
I was truly loved by a man sent by God. David Became my Friend, my Husband and my Lover.
David always said it was not the looks nor the shape that drew him to me but, what was between the 2 ears (smile), Even with some odds of approval from different ones, it wasn't about what others thought it was about what he knew and that was he Loved me.
God gave David to me and me to David it seemed as if it was only for a short time, nevertheless our time is not God's timing it was our season to share true Love together and when we needed each other the most we where there for one another.
My Husband David L.Norris with the Love of Christ showed me that I could truly be Loved by a man on earth.
God used My Husband to Minister Love to me,my children Torry, Richard, Dorothy, Qurisha and Jumarion (grandson),As well as his only begotten son Keenan and daugther Tess Norris words can't explain how much he Loved his two children and to know that they were ok lite his days and nights. David was a family man he Loved his sibblings very much he Loved sharing no matter what it was and the many friends,WOW the many friends seeing the many people that Loved my husband gave me great joy knowing that I had a great jewel from God.
I will trust & hold on to the GREAT memories that God allowed us to share.
How do one define TRUE LOVE
in one name:
MR. David L. Norris
(My Loving Husband).

The Final Alarm for Captain Norris: As firefighters and emergency service workers, we face the possibility of responding to "The Final Alarm" every day. It’s not something we think about often or try to dwell on, but we know deep in the back of our minds it is always a possibility that this could be our final alarm.
Most of our days are filled with the routine tasks of checking out the trucks and equipment, cleaning the station, preparing the day’s assignments like public education, turning hydrants, doing inspections or pre-fire surveys, and the list goes on and on. But once the alarm sounds everything changes. Everyone from the engineer who drives the fire truck, to the firefighters who ride in the jump seats, to the captain in charge, listens to the radio and the call. Every firefighter, from the "probie" to the most "seasoned" firefighter, is preparing a mental checklist wondering what they may be called to do as they listen to the radio dispatcher giving the address and the call. No one at this point is really thinking the worst, but thinking of working as a team, of accomplishing tasks and safely returning to the station. As firefighters we are accustomed to the interruptions of the day, usually at mealtime, and just chalking it up to "just another day" around the firehouse.
One day for someone, (and only the Lord knows who and when), it may not be "just another day" around the firehouse. For today might be the day that he or she is called upon to lay down his or her life in the line of duty.
September 11, 2001, will forever change the way we look at our jobs, ourselves, and the way those in the community view us. On that day our brothers and sisters stood proud and ready to meet the challenge at hand. No one could have imagined the horror of that day and the number of fire and emergency service workers who would lay down their lives.
The Bible tells us that no one knows the future or what tomorrow holds. However, we can know and trust the one who holds the future, our future, in his hands. That one is God. The God who loved us enough sent His only son Jesus Christ to earth to pay the price for our sins. The Bible also says: if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all our wrong doings.
Here are five steps that can help lead you to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. One: God is love, (John 3:16); two: man is a sinner, (Romans 3:23); three: sin has a penalty (a price), (Romans 6:23); four: Jesus paid the price for our sins, (Romans 5:8); and five: by grace you have been saved, through faith, (Ephesians 2:8,9) (Romans 10:9,10.)
Don’t delay. Trust Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. For today might be that day when "The Final Alarm" might sound for you.

A FIREFIGHTER'S POEM
HE STARES IN THE FACE OF DEATH
WITHOUT A SECOND THOUGHT
TO SAVE THAT ONE SPECIAL LIFE
THAT HE SO BRAVELY SOUGHT
HE HAS WALKED AS CLOSE TO
"HELL ON EARTH"
AS ANY MAN COULD DO
AND HE'S SO PROUD OF THE JOB HE DID
FOR PEOPLE HE NEVER KNEW
HE PUTS HIS LIFE ON THE LINE
EVERYTIME DUTY CALLS
ALWAYS DOING WHAT NEEDS TO DONE
WITHOUT EVEN A PAUSE
HE IS A FIREMAN
WITH OVERWHELMING PRIDE
NEVER AFRAID TO TAKE A CHANCE
WHEN SAVING SOMEONES LIFE
OFTEN HE SAYS
"IT'S MY JOB"
BUT WE REALLY KNOW
THAT HE IS VERY SPECIAL
AND ALWAYS READY TO GO
SO WHEN YOU HEAR THE SIRENS WAIL
OR SEE THE FLASHING LIGHTS
STAND ASIDE AND LOOK WITH PRIDE
HE'S GOING TO SAVE A LIFE.
WE SALUTE YOU, CAPTAIN NORRIS.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I am from Houston and moved to Wisconsin to work for the American Bowling Congress (now USBC). I remember David Norris because in 1998 he fought to have his bowling disqualification overturned. My department handled his appeal case. He was successful in his efforts and was the first bowler to have the ABC Board of Directors overturn a tournament director's decision in a TNBA bowling tournament. David was a great fighter with much courage. My thoughts are with you at this time of sorrow.

I've known David since the days we worked at Joske's loading trucks. We became the best of friends, and enjoyed some good times together. He touched me and my family in many ways including remodeling our home after a fire a few years ago. His sisterJesse and my wife also became close friends and remain so today. May God Bless the Norris family, and offer comfort in realizing David has earned his reward and left a lasting impression on a lot of people. Thank God for his life!!

To the family of David Norris,we like you will miss him. Every time me and my wife walk into the bathroom he remodeled for us will forever remember him and his good nature. Be encouraged thru this time of bereavement and know if God gave him an option to stay now where he is,or return back to us he would not come back bec he is now where streets are paved with gold and everyday is Sunday. Keep your head up and know now you have an angel looking out for you!
