STEVEN, August 8, 2009, of Ambler, PA. Husband of Pamela (nee Jabbusch). Father of Benjamin (Rebecca) Altman, Abby (Jeffrey) Arons and Laura Altman. Grandfather of Brandon Altman. Son of David and Louise (nee Heller) Altman. Son-in-law of Eleanor Jabbusch. Brother of Robert (Lois) Altman, Brett (Nan) Altman, Sharon (Joshua) Ifrah and the late Daniel (Jaclyn) Altman; also survived by loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to services, Friday Aug. 14th at 10 A.M. at Temple Sinai, 1401 North Limekiln Pike, Dresher, PA. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. Following the Interment, the family will return to Temple Sinai; and respectfully request that contributions in his memory may be made to: Temple Sinai, or to Angel Flight, East 1501 Narcissa Road, Blue Bell PA 19422; or to The Steven Altman Memorial Fund, c/o Sara Spoonhower Cornell, University Alumni Affairs and Development, 130 E. Seneca Street- Suite 400, Ithaca NY 14850 or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Dear Altman Family,
Please accept my sincere sympathy on the sudden and tragic loss of your loved ones. I will always remember Steve Altman for his generosity to my community and for his work on the old Anthony Wayne school that sat decaying for 20 years. Steve turned an eyesore into a beautiful senior citizen apartment building which is now a major asset to our neighborhood.

It was such a shock to hear of this terrible tragedy and my sincerest sympathies go out to Pam, David and all of the Altman family. Steve and Dan were wonderful gentlemen - kind, generous people and great business leaders. I worked for Steve and with Dan for many years in the Altman Companies and learned so much about property management and development from them and from the rest of the family in the companies. Any successes I have had in my career I owe, in large part, to the Altmans and, especially, to Steve. My thoughts and prayers are with this wonderful family, especially in this time of terrible loss.

As a former resident of Anthony Wayne Senior Housing, I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Altman. He was very kind and his company did a most wonderful project in converting the old school into a residence for seniors.

I joined the Apartment Association of Greater Philadelphia in 2003, when Steve was President. He went out of his way to be kind and inviting to a shy and nervous newcomer.
