Rene Lamarre Obituary

SALEM -- Rene C. Lamarre, 84, of Salem, a well-known building contractor, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Beverly Hospital. He was the devoted husband of the late Rose J. (De Santis) Lamarre, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage. Born and raised in Salem, Rene was the son of the late Joseph and Rosa (Brochu) Lamarre. From a very young age he worked in construction with his father. Rene owned and operated the Rene C. Lamarre Construction Company for 56 years and in the more recent years worked with his son. Together they specialized in commercial and residential projects including restorations. Rene was a quiet man who was devoted to his family and who loved his work. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his son, Richard M. Lamarre and his wife Laura and their daughter Rachel Lamarre, all of Beverly. He also leaves his sisters, Marie Darrise of Middleton and Martha Diebner of New Hampshire, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Rosario, Clarence, Robert Laurent and Lucien, and his sisters, Jeannette Searles, Rita Cappuccio, Lauretta O'Brien, Theresa Grenier, Bernadett Anketell and Julie Marks. Service information: Relatives and friends are invited to his calling hours on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 2-4 and from 6-8 p.m. at the LEVESQUE Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. (Route 114/1-A), Salem. His funeral service will be on Saturday, June 9 in the funeral home at 10:30 a.m., to be followed by his burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
