ROBERT HARRISON Obituary
Robert Dean Harrison, 86, of El Centro, CA passed away of natural causes in his home, on Tuesday, October 17, 2017. Robert was born on October 13, 1931 in Boswell, Oklahoma. He graduated from Holtville High School in 1950. In his senior year he was an All Valley football award winner. After enlisting in the Army in 1951, he fought in Korea with the 7th Calvary, where he earned his Combat Infantry Badge. After returning from the war, he married his sweetheart Barbara Chappell on May 7, 1954 in Yuma, AZ. In 1979 he retired from the California Army National Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Hazel Harrison; brother, Roy Harrison and sisters, Leona Bostick and Lucille Mills. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Harrison of 63 years; son, Gilbert (Patricia) Harrison of Holtville; daughter, Denise (Steven) Lang of El Centro; grandsons, Micah and Mark Harrison and granddaughter, Ashton Lang. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Hems Brothers Mortuary in El Centro, CA. A private visitation will be held from 8 to 9 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro, CA.
