I was so sorry to read of Jack's passing which I first noted in the wonderful tribute that Terry wrote on Facebook. I knew Jack and Arlene, for whom I subbed, through working at FJHS and through church. Pat was a classmate of my oldest son. Jack was a wonderful counselor. My condolences are extended to the entire family.

Coach Jack was my inspiration on the tennis court; not only to win, but to win in life. His respected values were passed on to all who played for Jack and knew him. I am saddened by the loss of this terrific human being and convey my condolences to the kids. With caring thoughts, Dan Heine, Naples, Florida

I was lucky to have had Jack as a football coach in high school and then work together as guidance counselors at Freeport Junior High. He was a great teacher, coach, colleague and friend. My deepest condolences to the entire Egan family.

Freeport has a history of producing very good tennis players female and male and I was glad to learn through the musings of his son how much his dad contributed to tennis. My sincere condolences to the family.

Mr. Egan was a very nice man! I was a member of the Freeport High School class of 1965. We just celebrated our 50th class
reunion. It's interesting to see that he wasn't that much older than we were. I think I had him for study hall and also drivers education. No wonder I am such a good driver! I liked him very much. To his family, children and grandchildren. I am sure he was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and terrific tennis player. May he rest in peace.
