Hazel Wait Obituary

Wait, Hazel E. (Nee Jagow ) Born in 1916 in Milwaukee, WI, has died in peace on Friday, February 14, 2014. She was 97 years old. She was attended by her son John Wait; granddaughter Katie, great-grandson Benjamin at home in Las Vegas, with much assistance from her children, Peter Wait, his wife Kathryn Lenihan and Sally Wait. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wells M. Wait; daughter-in-law Sheryl Lynn (Wolter) Wait; parents; grandparents; ancestors and most of her contemporaries. She left behind her four children, Peter, Sally, John, Thomas and a great sprawling tribe of descendants who will carry with us her love of life, family and friends, her tough determination to do what is right and just, or maybe just the correct way to set the table for family feasts. We love you mother, aunt, and grandma. We will carry you with with us always on our own journey though this life. There will be a gathering of the clan on April 13, in Las Vegas, New Mexico, for a memorial for Hazel where we will celebrate her Life in food, stories and song.

What a wonderful woman and very bright to the end. I loved spending time listening to your mother. She will be surely missed. My deepest condolences.

Wonderful capture of her life in her obituary.

My deepest condolences for all those who mourn the passing of my dear grandmother, Hazel. We lose a strong matriarch and wish her a peaceful journey beyond. I will always hear her in the notes of Bach and Tchaikovsky, feel her whenever I nuzzle a dog or cat, especially the stray wanderers and mealtime visitors. I will see her face in the red rock of Coffee Pot, and think of her every time I set the family dinner table. May we live our lives as full and strong as she lived hers. Her spirit we carry on. Blessed be.
