Anna Laurie (Chase) Gregg

1927 - 2018

Anne passed from this life on to her Heavenly home on January 20, 2018. She was born November 6th, 1927. Anne resided in Gustavus, AK for the majority of her life. Her early years were spent at family home surrounded by her 8 siblings. She attended Northwest Bible College in WA. Anne was married to Gene Chase on November 10th 1951. Together they raised their four children while, they lived on a 160 acre homestead.

Anne's love for children carried on as she taught Sunday school in her home, and art classes to all the neighborhood kids. She worked as election chairperson for many years, and was active in SEARCH, doing outreach to others in need.

After 42 yrs. of marriage, Gene passed away in 1993, and Anne reconnected with old Junior High school friend, Doug Gregg; together they joy again. They were married in 1994, in Juneau, AK. Anne relocated to Juneau, working alongside Doug at his Law office. She & Doug would visit the Wildflower Court once a week to play music for the residents. Anne and Doug were together until his passing in 2015.

In 2011, Anne moved to the Juneau Pioneer Home. Anne was able to celebrate her 90th Birthday on November 6th, surrounded by loved ones. Anne was able to spend her final days with quality moments from each of her children; and her daughter Gloria, holding her hand for the final days. Her earthly journey ended very peacefully with some of her final words being softly spoken "Come Lord Jesus".

She was preceded in death by her father, William White, and mother, Inez May White; first husband Gene Chase; second husband Doug Gregg; siblings Henrietta White (House), Dorothy White (DeBoer), Gloria White (Millsap), Genevieve White (Olson), Charles White and Ed White.

Anne is survived by her siblings Alice White (Ackerman) and Bill White; children Sylvia Chase (Pedersen), Gloria Chase, Don Chase, and Bob Chase; grandchildren Maria Pedersen (Davis), Michelle Pedersen, Cassandra Chase & Samantha Chase, and Heather Turley; and great grandchildren Landon Davis & Josselyn Davis.

The Juneau Pioneer Home held a small Service for Anne on February 4th attended by family, friends and residents. A Celebration of Life will be this spring in Gustavus, AK. Her burial will be in the Gustavus Cemetery.
