Ben Gold Obituary

Gold, Ben Z. Born June 27, 1921, passed away June 8, 2003, lifetime resident of Los Angeles. Loving husband of Lorraine, his wife of sixty years. Loving father to Barry (Lee) and Sherri. Loving older brother of Sol who predeceased him, and loving and beloved cousin and loving uncle to his younger cousins and nieces and nephews
Ben served his country during WWII as a Naval radar technician. In his lifetime, he managed three businesses successfully; first a print shop, then a chain of parking lots, and finally Gold Currency Exchange check cashing, but always had time enough for his family and friends. He was active for many years as treasurer of Roosevelt High's alumni association and as a fund raiser for United Jewish Fund; he was also an active fan of UCLA basketball and football. He loved traveling to new places and always came home with new friends that he'd met in faraway places or found among his tour group companions. He was kind, loving, giving and generous and funny, a man of morals and integrity. In lieu of flowers, please remember him by a donation to the United Jewish Fund or the Alzheimer's Association. Services will be held at 12 noon, Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at Hillside Memorial Park Mortuary Chapel. Hillside Mortuary (800)576-1994
