Paul P. Selan

SELAN, Paul P. June 3, 1922 - June 5, 2009 Husband of the late Fern (passed 1995); brother of Lester and Annette; father of Rick, Bruce (Randee), and Chip (Helena). Grandfather of Andrei, Tracy, Shelby and Ashley. Great-grandfather of Tyler, Brooke, Eli, and Elliott. Paul was born in Oakland, CA, raised his family in Chicago, Illinois, retired with Fern to Las Vegas in 1983 and spent his final year living with his son, Rick, Augustine, Lady, Spirit, Freida, Shatsi, Arlo, and Diego near the ocean in Venice, CA. Besides family, Paul spent much of his life focused on building outstanding schools of cosmetology in different parts of Chicago. His hobby was cooking, and Paul spent much of his final year tuned into the Food Channel. The relationship Paul developed with Augustine Gonzalez, his full time caregiver, was very special. Augustine made sure Paul was always happy and felt wanted and loved. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Oakwood Recreation Center, 767 California Ave., Venice, CA 90291.
