Allen R. "Bud" Yount

1950 - 2021

Allen R. "Bud" Yount, 71, of Cherry Run, Pa., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021, at Indiana Regional Medical Center.

He was born on April 9, 1950, in Kittanning, Pa., to Clarence "Buss" and Mona June S. (Uplinger) Yount.

Bud was a lifelong resident of the Armstrong County area. He graduated from Elderton High School in 1968 and proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was previously employed by R&P Coal Company, Parkwood Resources, Consol Energy and most recently as mine inspector with Pennsylvania DEP until his retirement in 2019. He was a member of the Ford City VFW Post #4893, the William Penn Club and the UMWA. Bud enjoyed singing karaoke, entertaining his friends and hunting. He was a good finish carpenter and was always working on something around the house and a mechanic, who enjoyed working on his classic cars.

Bud attended Whitesburg United Methodist Church. He will be lovingly remembered as a man of God and a family man who loved to spend time with his granddaughter.

He is survived by his daughters, Leslie R. Meyer and husband,

Michael, of Home, Pa., and Stephanie A. Hayes and husband, Ray, of Rural Valley, Pa.; his granddaughter, Lucy Meyer; a step-grandson, Ray Hayes, Jr.; his sister, Marion Townsend and husband, Robert, of Spring Church, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bud is also survived by his beloved cat, Cody, that Sandy was not very fond of.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant brother.

His loving wife, Sandra P. (Graham) Yount, whom he married on July 10, 1970, passed away shortly after him on Oct. 24, 2021.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021, at the Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, Inc., 238 S. Main St., Elderton, Pa.

Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 29, 2021, at the Whitesburg United Methodist Church, 12127 US Route 422, Kittanning, Pa., with the Rev. Alfred Kimmel officiating.

Interment will be in Whitesburg United Methodist Cemetery, Kittanning, Pa., where military honors will be presented by the American Legion Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bud's memory to Whitesburg United Methodist Church, 12127 US Route 422, Kittanning, PA 16201 or to Ford City VFW Post No. 4843, 2125 Bailey Ave., Ford City, PA 16226.
