Today was the first time that I went for my dentist appointment and Dr. Coté was not there. Dr. Bercu and I reminisced. I wept as for someone in my own family. I have been with Dr. Coté from day one of his practice at the Medical Arts Building, when he took over Dr. Tormey's practice. I don't have to tell you what a great person Dr. Coté was, always the consummate professional. I will miss him alot.

From the age of 6, I saw Dr. Cote early and often. Thankfully we started to see each other on a more bi-annual basis. I had the opportunity over the years to share experiences, concerns and hopes with Dr.Cote. He recalled all of my 7 siblings and even their children. He was a vibrant man whom I grew to look forward to seeing as the years went on. His passing was received by all, with shock and sorrow. My condolences to the whole family. God Bless You at this difficult time.

Dr. Cote was a very fine person of good quality, high ethics and
high standards of practice. Together with my two sons we visited
Dr. Cote as patience but also felt as though he were part of our family.
I always felt completely at ease with Dr. Cote’s care for my sons
and myself and looked forward to chatting with him during our visits.
I offer his family my sincere wishes that good memories replace
these moments of sadness for what is a very unfair and untimely
loss of a wonderful person. We will miss him.

Stephanie and Family;
We are all deeply saddened by the loss of Dr. Cote. It was a privilege to watch Stephanie walk down the aisle with her father and I know how much that must have meant to both of them. Please know that we are here for you during this very difficult time. Love Kata and Paul

Mrs. Coté and family:
I had the privilege of being one of Dr.Coté's patients from the time he started his practice, and I was a young girl who had a secret crush on him, until his retirement. He was a gentle and talented professional who would share stories of his travels while he worked. I had the opportunity to meet you and your husband in another capacity, while I was working as a nurse in NICU at the MGH, in the 80's. I remember talking and reassuring him about how we would take special care of you. Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss and the loss of a fine man.

I extend my deepest sympathy to you Mrs.. Cote and your family on the loss of your beloved husband. About 2 months ago, I found out via Maria that Dr. Cote was taking a leave of absence due to an illness. Shockingly, I found out yesterday Christmas Day that he had passed away a couple of weeks ago. It made me extremely sad to hear this for I at age 81 consider him a young and healthy gentleman.
He is the only dentist I had since arriving in Canada in the 60s and my 8 children were under his care until they got married and left home.
I feel certain that the gentleness and kindness that your husband extended to his patients is being extended to him manifold now by his creator.
We will be remembering him in our prayers as we remember you and your family in your pain and grief.
May God bless and keep you in his loving care. Sincerely, Regina Darwent

My deepest sympathies go out to the entire family, loved ones and friends.
I was shocked to hear the news this morning. I had just recently received his letter stating that he was retiring, and I remember thinking that no one deserved it more than him, having worked so hard. It was my intent in the last few weeks to contact him for one more visit. He was the first and only dentist that I ever visited starting at the age of 5 in 1967 (almost 40 years). We had many interesting chats over the years, although he seemed to do most of the talking, my mouth was always full of something…I think he rather preferred it that way and took some form of pleasure in that. Being from the West Island, he was the only reason that I went into the downtown core in the last 10 years. Dr. Cote was a happy cheerful soul and was a delight to visit…I wasn’t afraid of my dentist and I’ll miss him.

I was a patient of Dr. Cote for almost as long as he was practicing. I continued to see him even after I moved to the U.S. 10 years ago. It was with extreme sadness that I read about Dr. Cote in the newspaper. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. I will miss him.

We were very sorry to hear this news and at this time of year it's always a bit more difficult. I was trying to see whether I could get to Montreal and I can't. It has been may years since I've seen all the Stoddards in one place. We will be thinking about you.

Stephanie and the Cote Family,
On behalf of myself and the rest of the Abelson family I wanted to pass along our condolences for your loss. Though I only met your father once I have heard many stories, and for having raised such a wonderful daughter speaks volumes of his character. I’m sorry to say I’m not in the city and won’t be able to attend on Tuesday but I’ll be thinking of you all.
Here for you always,
Dave
