Ashley Rumsey Obituary
Ashley Ann Rumsey, age 35 of Hesperia, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022 at her home with her family by her side following her fight and victory over her battle with a Meningioma brain tumor. Ashley was born on May 21, 1987 in Muskegon to Jeff and Lori (Thomas) Rumsey and graduated from Hesperia High School in 2005 and later graduated from Baker College. Ashley has been a lifelong resident of the Hesperia area where she had been a massage therapist and enjoyed volunteering at Hesperia Public Schools. Ashley had enjoyed listening to music – rather loud at times, scrapbooking, crafts, reading, loved all animals, playing cribbage, shopping and had a great fondness to the color purple. Ashley especially treasured the time she spent with her family and being an aunt to her niece and nephew. Ashley was a member of the Holton Evangelical Lutheran Church and held strong to her faith in God.
Ashley is survived by her mother and father, Lori and Jeff Rumsey of Hesperia; her sisters and their family, Dana (Randy Knight) Rumsey of Grand Rapids and their son, Maverick Knight; Alexa Rumsey of Las Vegas, Nevada; her brother, Jeffrey (Catie) Rumsey II of Fremont and their daughter, Harper Rumsey; maternal grandmother, Shirley (Thomas) Newman of Hesperia; many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. Ashley was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, George Thomas; paternal grandmother and step grandfather, Charlene and Ron Sartwell; paternal grandfather, Gary Rumsey.
VISITATION : Sunday, December 18, 2022 from 2-5pm at Crandell Funeral Home 7193 W 48th Street Fremont MI 49412. FUNERAL SERVICES : Monday, December 19, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Holton Evangelical Lutheran Church 6655 Marvin Road Holton MI 49425 with a visitation at the church from 12-1pm. INTERMENT : East Hesperia Cemetery in the spring of 2023. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the Newaygo Medical Care Facility Patient Fund or Spectrum Health Foundation for Spectrum Health Hospice. Ashley was always a very outgoing, fun, loving and caring person! She always had a smile even when she was not feeling well.
She fought this battle long and hard. She never gave up. She always had a positive attitude!
She definitely made an impact on this world!
Even when I had not seen her for years. She recognized my voice and silhouette.
She will be deeply missed!
