Barbara J. Turner

Legacy of Life Barbara Jean Turner 81, of Indianapolis, Indiana made her transition peacefully to be with the Lord and was surrounded by her loved ones. Tuesday March 4,2025. Barbara was born, April 18, 1943, and preceded in death by her late husband George Turner Jr. Parents Iley Hopkins Miller and Justine Seal, Stepmother Willie Mae Miller, brother Jimmie Lee Miller and sister Doris Mitchell. Barbara was a member of Metro Church of Christ Inc of Indianapolis, Indiana. Barbara sometimes known as Bobbie or BJ attended Roosevelt High School, Gary, IN. Barbara met the love of her life, George Turner Jr. In 1974 and from their union 1 child was born Georzella Turner. Daughters Cym Greer, Dawn Washington, Juszina Kendrick, Sons- Curley Gibbs Jr, and Kevin(Cheryl) Gibbs. Brothers Curtis Miller, James (Yvette) Miller , William Miller, Eldridge (Marian) Miller, Pauline (Ralph) Thomas, Juanita Morgan,Mandy Ezell, Debra (David) Adegbenro and sister-in-laws Ann Miller wife of the late Jimmie Miller and Jean Miller late wife of Curtis Miller. Her family moved from Gary to Indianapolis, where she made many friends. She was involved in many activities; her favorite game she played daily was bingo. Barbara loved life and anyone that ever crossed her pathway was no stranger. She made friends and adopted everyone she met as a daughter, son and grandkid. Barbara leaves behind 20 grandkids and 34 great grandkids and special family: Parker, Rice, Worley and the Chandler family. Barbara loved and enjoyed cooking, she also loved sharing food, entertaining and putting a smile on your face. She loved life and always said, we got to take the bitter with the sweet. Barbara was deeply loved by family and friends.
