Reverend Billy Joe Greer

GREENSBORO - Reverend Billy Joe Greer, 77, of 3203 Hines Chapel Road, died Sunday October 12, 2008 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 15 at 3:30 p.m. at Forbis and Dick North Elm Street Chapel conducted by Rev. James Easter and Rev. Michael Baynes. Interment will be at Westminster Gardens.

Rev. Greer was born in Ashe County, N.C. He was the current pastor of the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Summerfield. For the past thirty five years, he has owned and operated BJ Greer Pool Company.

He is survived by his wife of thirty one years, Linda Greer, of the home; mother Elsie Lambert of West Jefferson; daughters, Susan Doherty and her husband Merv, of Cedar Creek, Texas; Sylvia Williams, of Raleigh; sons, Billy Greer, Jr., and his wife Carmen, of Summerfield; and David Inman and his wife Tammy, of Summerfield; sisters, Pat Landmeier and her husband Guy of Lansing, N.C.; Elizabeth Greer, of Lenoir; brothers, Danny Lambert and his wife Lisa, of Laurel Springs, N.C.; Larry Lambert and his wife Sharlene, of West Jefferson; Jimmy Greer and his wife May, of New Castle, Del. and Darrel Greer and his wife Marie, of New Castle Del.; grandchildren, Matthew Inman and his wife Chelsey; Michael Inman and his wife Erica; Daniel Inman and his wife Stacey; and Christian Inman; Tristan Greer; Scott Burrell; Sean Burrell and Ashley Peedin eight great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Forbis and Dick North Elm Street Funeral Home tonight from 6 until 9 p.m.
