Blasita Saldaña Obituary
Blasita G. Saldaña, a resident of San Marcos, passed away July 7, 2011 at the age of 87. She was born in Brownsville, Texas February 17, 1924 to Jesus and Andrea Garza. She was one of 15 children and is survived by two brothers and five sisters. She is preceded in death by her husband, Juan Angel Saldaña who passed away in 2005 and son, Johnny Saldaña, Jr. who passed away in 2000. She was a Registered Nurse in public health and a school nurse. Blasita is survived by daughter, Elsa Antonia Saldaña and her husband Nasrat Raouf, of Sierra Madre, CA; and daughter Diana Goldgar and her husband Richard of Austin; son, Daniel Saldaña and his wife Samrrah of Carmichael, CA; granddaughter, Sarah Emily Goldgar of Austin. The family will receive family and friends Saturday, July 9, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Thomason Funeral Home, 2001 Ranch Road 12 in San Marcos. The funeral service will be Sunday, July 10 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at San Marcos Cemetery. Chaplain Glenn Shoemake will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the American Red Cross International. Elsa, Diana and Daniel, I kept thinking about you and your beautiful mama, but when I returned to Buckner on the 12th, you were all gone. I'm so very grateful to have met you all but missed saying goodbye.
