Carol Casey Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 5, 2024.
Carol Lynn Casey of Chicago, Illinois passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan 30 surrounded by her loving family, after bravely dealing with her cancer diagnosis. She was 55. Carol was born in Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Thomas Joseph Casey and Doris Casey. Carol attended Penn State University and Immaculata University, before beginning a 30-year career in the food and wine industry. Carol's smile and laugh could light up a room. She had many challenges and faced each of them with a positive attitude, never losing her wicked sense of humor. She loved traveling, wine, and good food and enjoyed nothing more than baking for others. She was fiercely independent, exceptionally generous, and uncommonly loyal. She was loved and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to have known her. Carol is survived by sister Doris Moon, brother William Kirkwood, sister Diane Kirkwood, brother James Kirkwood, sister Ann Harper, brother Joseph Casey, sister Karen Casey, brother Thomas Casey, brother Charles Casey, brother Michael Casey, sister Colleen Casey, sister Kristen Mills, and her loving dog Sooner. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews and her many supportive friends. A Celebration of life will be held in the coming months.
