Conchita Gonzalez Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 21, 2023.
Conchita Rita Gonzalez, 72, of New Jersey, passed away on September 12, 2023, in Virginia Beach, VA. She brought joy and sparkle into every room she entered, with a love for wearing sparkles on her clothes, hats, and shoes. Conchita was a cheerful and kind-hearted individual, known for her appreciation of Motown music and her affection for babies and animals. She truly enjoyed celebrating life's moments.

Conchita is survived by her loving son, Leslie Fleming (Mary), as well as six grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She will be dearly missed by her Key West Family, former neighbors at Bobbitt Apartments, and her community at Norfolk Catholic Worker.

Sadly, Conchita was preceded in death by her son David Fleming.

She was greatly appreciative of Pastor Gregory and the faith community she found in her final home at Virginia Beach Healthcare and Rehab.

A memorial service to celebrate Conchita's life will be held at 2pm on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the home of her friends, Kim and Steve, located at 2616 Bowdens Ferry Rd., Norfolk, VA.

The Altmeyer funeral home in Virginia Beach, VA, is assisting with the arrangements.

Conchita's vibrant spirit and love for life will forever be cherished by those who knew her. May she rest in peace.

I remember `RITA´ as a fun-loving person who loved music; she and my brother Kenneth loved to dance. They enjoyed going to the Palladium in New York for dancing and having a good time. I remember once having to baby-sit their oldest child, David (my nephew). I was about 16 living in Montclair, NJ. RITA and Kenneth were going to NY to the Palladium for a dance contest. Precious are the memories of the good times we recall. Proverbs 10:7a says `the memory of the righteous is blessed´. May the memory of CONCHITA RITA GONZALES be etched forever in the hearts of all who knew her and may her soul rest in peace with the Lord forever. - Ronald Fleming
