Dana Williams Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 30, 2024.
Dana Kathleen Williams, 68, passed away on October 24, 2024, in Phoenix, AZ, just two days shy of her 69th birthday. Born on October 26, 1955, Dana's vibrant personality and infectious laughter left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Dana spent her early education at Royal Palm Elementary and Sunnyslope High School, later attending Glendale Community College, which laid the groundwork for her successful career. She dedicated many years to the retail industry, with a notable tenure as the front desk manager at Pointe Resorts in the early '90s. Her exceptional service and dedication to making people happy earned her the prestigious Pointe Person of the Year award.

Dana was a passionate gardener who cherished the outdoors, especially the 5 acres of land in Sierra Vista where she enjoyed retirement with her husband, Paul Palma, and their two dogs. Her love for life extended to her large and loving family. She is survived by her husband of 5 years, Paul Palma; children, Michelle Thevaos, Robert Williams II, Corbin Craik, Toby Palma, and Paul Palma Jr. (Ellen); grandchildren, Kastle Angeles, Jacob Palma, Navia Williams, David Palma, AJ Tournay, Vivienne Thevaos, Tatum Williams, Evelyn Thevaos, Liam Thevaos, and Kamara Craik; siblings, Gene Larson, Doug Larson, and Janis Williams; and nephews, Michael and Andy Williams. Dana was preceded in death by her parents, Otis Larson and Marilyn Hutcherson, stepfather, Bill Hutcherson, and stepbrother, Gary Hutcherson.

Dana's life was a testament to her belief in the joy of connecting with others, never knowing a stranger and always being the life of the party. True to her nature, a Celebration of Life will be held in the spring, details of which will be shared with family and friends closer to the date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in Dana's honor, continuing her legacy of generosity and community support.

Dana and I met in 1970 when we were in high school. Our boyfriends were best friends. The boyfriends didn´t last but we did. Over the years we shared life´s ups and downs, lots of laughter and some tears. Her humor and wit never dimmed. She was fun and enjoyable to be around. She deeply, deeply loved her family and always told of their accomplishments. There´s a hole in my heart without her. She will be greatly missed by anyone who knew her.

Dana came over to our house, she was around 7 i think, and declared (not mentioned or even opined) but declared that she could run faster than anybody in the neighborhood. I said ok, prove it. She took off like a rocket-ship goin' sideways. One of her feet encountered a nail and down she went. Bo tears, just a very loud 'DANG IT!!' Quite fast, tho.
