Dear Cathy and family, I was so sorry to hear of Dave going home, to our way of thinking, too early; but such an outstanding man, who loved God, really is in that "better place" that people often refer to without really knowing the truth of that statement. How good and kind Dave was/is and how surely God is using his life for great good, even now. Yes, although Dave is not physically here, his prayers for you and your family will NEVER die and continue to do God's work. Much Prayer for you and the family! God bless, Nancy Wehrheim

Kim and Charnock family,
I was fortunate to be one of those people who was inspired by Dave during my short time with the North Hills Jaycees where we praccticed the idea that service to others is the best work in life. It saddens me to see such an outstanding man leave us so early.
My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

Boss, Mentor and Friend…I will forever cherish all of the years that it was my great privilege to work directly for Dave. He was a one-of-a-kind leader that inspired you to reach that next level. His encouragement and mentoring are gifts that I will never forget. I feel so blessed to have been part of Dave's work family.
Dave had a story for every occasion and he delighted in sharing them with us. His pride and love for his family was so evident in them.
Cathy and family, as you go through this painful time, please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. As time lessens the pain of loss, may you find comfort in the cherished memories of Dave, a truly great man who was respected and loved by so many.

We are all but strangers here on this side of the curtain of Life - Heaven is our true home.
On behalf of the members and officers of the United States JCI Senate, we extend our heartfelt condolences on your loss.
No words can truly ease the pain nor can they fill the void of your loss. Only God's hand can offer that healing.
Know that your Senate Family prays for you and your family. We offer our shoulder and arms for comfort. We share your loss.

To the Charnock Family:
Dave was one of the nicest people I have ever know. I had the pleasure of working with him back in the 90's. He was always a gentleman, very patient and a mentor in his own right. He will be truly missed and I am deeply sorry for your loss.

Dear Cathy, Sarah, and family, please accept my deepest sympathy. I have fond memories of Dave at Alpern Rosenthal, and, more recently, at St. Ferdinand where we had the chance to greet each other on many Sundays with a handshake and a warm “Good Morning”. May family, friends, and the faith that Dave is in a better place, free from all illness, bring comfort and peace to you.

To the Charnock family: I worked with Dave many years ago at Building Systems. Dave had a wonderful sense of humor and loved his family. Death has selfishly robbed you of the joys and blessings of his presence but not of the countless memories and spiritual impact of his life well lived. Know that he rests comfortably in the palms of God's hands and May he rest in peace. My deepest sympathy to all of you.

David was such an amazing person and a wonderful mentor. He was such a guidance at work - helping me to learn from my mistakes but more importantly, he would guide me in a way that forced me to make decisions. It was always a comfort to know that I could turn to him in any situation, whether it was personal or professional. Dave would drop what he was doing and give you as much time as you needed. He has influenced my life in a way that few other people have, he was truly a special person - an original. I miss him and am so thankful that I had the opportunity to have his presence in my life.

Dear Cathy and family:
I am trying to find the words to convey my sadness to you and your children in the loss of your husband and dad.
I always remembered Dave as a quiet, gentle man at all the birthday parties at the Hannan's.
He certainly did love his family and his Church. I was amazed at all he accomplished for the good of mankind. What a beautiful legacy he has left to you and your children and I hope this will comfort you. We should remember that memory is one gift of the Father that death cannot destroy and his memory will live on in your hearts forever. He will never be forgotten by anyone who has had the honor of meeting him.
With deepest sympathy and much love.
Carole (Hannan) Seay, Robert & family.

Dear Cathy, Dave was such a very special person. We were so blessed to have him in our lives. We could always count on Dave to lead the way with his humor or playing Trivia games. What a special bond he had with all the other brother-in-laws and their very special and exclusive organization- MWMHW - The Men Who Married Hurley Women. What a crew they were whether at family vacations, the cruise, fishing trips or baseball games, they were there for each other, even letting our brothers join in the fun. All our lives are richer for having Dave in them. He will always be a special part of our family. Love to you and Kim and Brian and Chris and Greg and Sarah and their families. Betty and Larry

Cathy and Family, We were so very sorry to hear about Dave. You have our deep sympathy. I told my Mom who said "I saw him somewhere recently." She could not remember where (The Reunion) but she remembered seeing him and said: "He sat down and he talked to me for a good while." It was so great he was able to come to the reunion and everyone had a chance to see him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this very sad moment in time. Take care, Paul & Kathy Gaertner and Family

Dave and I both attended college at IUP. I ran into Dave on our first evening there. I think that we were both glad to see a familiar face. We sat on a park bench in the Oak Grove and just talked. I can't even remember what we talked about, but I know that we both felt a little less lost because we met that night. I am sorry to hear of Dave's death. I will always carry the memory of that night in my heart.

Dave was a very special member of Avalon's Class of '67. His sense of humor was well appreciated in class and provided teachers and classmates with moments of comic relief! I'm sure that Dave is already having a reunion with Mr. Sewak and Bruce Harkiewicz to discuss the good old days at Avalon High! Although this is a most difficult time for all of you, I pray that the days ahead allow you to gradually replace your tears of sadness with special smiles as you recall your own special times with Dave.
