David Peter Wiens

David Peter Wiens September 19, 1954 - December 17, 2017 David could no longer take the pain of depression from bipolar disease and, in his despair, took his life. He leaves an aching hole in the hearts of his family including his mother Dorothy Wiens (Floyd Sanderson) and his children Jennifer Rowsell (Tracy), Kelsey Merkley (Ryan) and Matthew Wiens (Amy Koehn). He was preceded in death by his father Walter Wiens. He is also survived by his sisters Cathy Foht (Melvin) and Dr. Sharon Wiens (Steve Wilson) and his much loved grandchildren: Megan, Kaitlin and Ben. All of us will miss his charm, his fount of brilliant ideas, his generous heart and his ever engaging presence in our lives.
