Dawn (Ann Daniels) Mora July 28, 1941 – June 9, 2021 The soul of Dawn Mora rose into heaven on June 9th as the sun crossed the noon day sky. Her legacy is the light. A notably beautiful and talented woman with hundreds of important credits to her name, she grew up in Palm Springs, California, with her mother "Honey," a teacher at Cahuilla Elementary School, and brother, artist Bill Arms. She graduated from Palm Springs High School and from San Diego State with Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Theatre. Her professional acting credits include "Island of the Blue Dolphin" for Universal Studios and "Play it Again Sam" for the San Diego Shakespeare Festival. Dawn worked on Second City in New York City in 1962. She directed "Bob Hope for President" with Ernie Flatt in Palm Springs to raise money for the McCallum theater. She married Attorney Ron Mora in 1971 and moved to Chicago where she began teaching at Northwestern University in 1983. She was recently honored with the status of Professor Emeritus for her prized and distinguished service. She is survived by her dearly loved son Abraham Mora, grandson Alexander Mora, granddaughter Arianna Mora, brother William (Bill Daniels) Arms, nephew Marc Sigel, stepson Peter Mora, stepdaughter Katherine Mora and her beloved puppy Coco. Burial will be private at the Desert Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers she asked that donations go to the American Cancer Society or the Palm Springs Dance Project. Visitation will be held at Rose Mortuary & Crematory located at 71555 CA-111, Rancho Mirage, CA on Thursday June 24, 2021 from 1 pm-5pm. Burial service is scheduled for 8:30am Friday June 25, 2021 at the graveside in the Desert Memorial Park located at 31-705 Da Vall Dr, Cathedral City, CA 92234.
