Donald Slusser Obituary
- - Donald John Slusser Jr., age 86, peacefully entered the kingdom of God in the early morning hours of Friday, April 20, with his wife by his side. Don was the only child of Donald Slusser Sr. and Evelyn (Kuss) Slusser, of Forest Hills (Pittsburgh) PA. Don is survived by his cherished wife of 47 years, Eulalia (Lala), and 6 children, Donald J. Slusser III (Tammy), Linda Popies (Tom), Sandi Kuritzky (Mark) all of Pittsburgh, Susan Bennett (Jerry) of NC, Mark Slusser (Janet) of TX, and Amy Clark (Mike) of NJ.Don and Lala were also blessed with 16 grandchildren and 14 great children. Don graduated from Wilkinsburg High School and attended Miami University before beginning a career in the construction industry. His personality and aggressiveness suited him well in the sales and management positions he held. As an avid golfer, he 'shot his age' 2 years ago.Don was active in his community and anyone who knew him would tell you that Don was always there to help with any project or need they had. It has been said that if word got out that Don needed something, there would be hundreds of friends lined up for him.
A service will be held on May 12th (Don's 87th birthday) at 11:00am at Holy Trinity Presbyterian Church in North Ft Myers, followed by a Celebration of Life service at Heron's Glen ballroom in North Ft Myers.
In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates your donation to Hope Hospice, 9470 Healthcare Park Circle, Ft Myers FL 33908.

Ling and I want to express our deepest and sincerest sympathies to the entire family, my Aunt Lala, all of the children, their spouses, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and their many friends and neighbors they met through the course of their life together. We had the distinct pleasure and honor to be able to visit with them on two occasions when they came to Las Vegas, and although our visits were short, the time spent was a joyous time, and what Ling and I will always cherish. God bless each and everyone of you, and comfort you as only He can. You are in our prayers always, and as suggested we are making a donation to the Hope Hospice. As today, May 12th would have been Don's 87th birthday and the service and celebration of life are being held, it is only fitting that Ling and I honor his memory and all of you with our donation.

Pete and I hit the lottery when we moved into the neighborhood and got you as neighbors. Your zest for life and unbelievable love of each other ,family and friends was incredible. We feel so honored and privileged to have been involved in creating memories with you as well as assisting Lala in caring for you in your final days. We will always cherish your wonderful smile.
