EDWARD MULLEN Edward R. Mullen, 73, of Lansdale died Sept. 28, 2011 at his residence. He had been in failing health. Born in Mt. Pleasant, he was the son of the late Thomas and Margaret Farrell Mullen. Mr. Mullen graduated from Ramsay High School in Mt. Pleasant and from Drexel University, class of 1974. He served in the US Air Force. Mr. Mullen was an electrical engineer and worked for Univac in Blue Bell for 40 years, then United Technologies in Ft. Washington and later at AEL. He retired from Motorola in Horsham in 2010. He was a very active member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lansdale where he volunteered as a bingo worker, served as an usher, volunteered at the annual summer festival and sang in the Church choir. He was a member of the Lansdale Jaycees where he had served as Vice President and was a Boy Scout Leader. Surviving is his beloved wife of 41 years, Anne Marie Kunz Mullen; five children, Andrea Laing and her husband, Justin, of Lansdale, Dana Blazo and her husband, Michael, of Lower Salford, Edward Mullen and his wife, Jennifer, of Lansdale, Michele Mullen of Lansdale and Kevin Mullen of Lansdale; six grandchildren, Gabriel, Michael, Savannah, Christopher, Matthew and Mallory; brothers, John Mullen and his wife, Louise, of Inverness, FL.and Dennis Mullen and his wife, Lois, of Ocean City, NJ; and sister, Kathleen Baird and her husband, Paul, of Mt. Pleasant. He was preceded in death by his son, baby boy Justin Mullen in 1984; brothers, Thomas and Robert Mullen; and sister Margaret Mullen. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home, 532 E. Main St., Lansdale Sunday evening from 7 to 9PM and Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:45AM and to attend his Funeral Mass Monday at St. Stanislaus Church at 11AM. Interment will be in St. John Neumann Cemetery. For those desiring, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ed's name to St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446 or to Grand View Hospital Hospice, 700 Lawn Ave., Sellersville, PA 18960 would be preferred.

Heh I think of Ed often and i still miss him. Knowing that he was in the world was a comfort to me. He sends his comfort from heaven now. Remember all the decorating he did at the campsite,how into the holidays he was and no father loved his children more then Ed Mullen! Ed was a Roman Catholic Christian Im proud of how he lived and im proud of how he died with such faith

I'm so thankful I got to see Ed one last time when I was up there last month. I feel blessed for that moment at the campground seeing him and telling him about our baby and showing him Katja's picture as he was curious what she looked like. He will be missed.

Ann Marie and all the family we are truly sorry for your loss. Ed was a great guy, kind and compassionate. He loved to chat and tell you about his family and what was going on. I will miss him and I know the family will see that empty chair and wonder where is that beautiful person now. What cherished memories you have! Dear Ann Marie and Family,

What a gift from God that Ed lived so long after his diagnosis! It is a true testament to the love he had for his family and friends as well as the love his family and friends had for him, that enabled him to beat the odds for so long.
